Daniel Ottens studied economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. After starting his career as an economic analyst at Rabobank, Daniel moved to the Dutch central bank in There he worked at the Monetary and Economic Policy department and the Financial Stability Division, specialising in international economic issues witha special focus on the emerging economies of East Asia.
Daniel has taught international economics at Erasmus University and the University of Amsterdam. He is a co-author of the Study guide forInternational trade and the world economy.
During his studies he worked as a teacher and research assistant in international economics at Erasmus UniversityRotterdam. After his studies he worked as a policy advisor at the Ministry of Finance. He is currently employed by ABP, the second largest pensionfund in the world. He also continues to teach part-time in international economics, initially at the University of Amsterdam and currently at ErasmusUniversity Rotterdam.
